SIPX (Sodium Isopropyl Xanthate) is a selective sulfide flotation collector offering moderate strength and high selectivity for copper, lead, zinc, and gold flotation, delivering cleaner concentrates and stable recovery.
SIPX (Sodium Isopropyl Xanthate) is a widely used medium-strength sulfide flotation collector known for its excellent selectivity, fast adsorption, and stable performance across copper, lead, zinc, and precious-metal flotation circuits.
With slightly lower collecting strength than SIBX but higher selectivity, SIPX is ideal for operations seeking improved concentrate grade with controlled pyrite recovery.
SIPX is particularly effective in flotation of chalcopyrite, galena, activated sphalerite, and polymetallic sulfides under both rougher and cleaner stages. It performs exceptionally well in ores requiring balanced selectivity and moderate collecting power.
Designed for modern mineral processing applications, SIPX provides:
• Moderate but effective collecting strength ideal for selective flotation
• Higher selectivity vs SIBX and PAX, producing cleaner concentrates
• Fast adsorption on sulfide mineral surfaces
• Strong performance in mildly oxidized or transition ores
• Reduced pyrite recovery compared to stronger xanthates
• Stable operation across common flotation pH conditions
• Cost-efficient reagent suitable for high-tonnage concentrators
SIPX is commonly used in:
• copper flotation (chalcopyrite, bornite)
• lead flotation (galena)
• zinc flotation after CuSO₄ activation
• gold-associated sulfides
• polymetallic and selective flotation circuits
