Z-5 (Sodium Diisobutyl Dithiocarbamate) is a high-strength, selective flotation collector for copper, gold, silver, and activated zinc ores, offering superior adsorption and excellent pyrite rejection for cleaner, high-grade concentrates.
Z-5 (Sodium Diisobutyl Dithiocarbamate) is a high-strength, high-selectivity dithiocarbamate flotation collector widely used in the recovery of copper, gold, silver, and activated zinc sulfide ores.
Known for its exceptionally strong chemisorption, superior selective power, and excellent pyrite rejection, Z-5 is a preferred reagent in flotation circuits requiring high-grade concentrates and enhanced recovery of fine or refractory precious-metal sulfides.
Compared with standard Z200 and ZDTC, Z-5 offers stronger collection intensity and more selective adsorption, making it suitable for complex sulfide ores, fine-grained gold, and copper–gold deposits where xanthates are either too weak or overly non-selective.
Engineered for challenging flotation environments, Z-5 provides:
• Very strong adsorption on chalcopyrite, bornite, chalcocite, and precious-metal sulfides
• Outstanding selectivity over pyrite, pyrrhotite, and iron sulfides
• Superior recovery of fine-grained and refractory gold-associated sulfides
• Excellent performance in copper–gold and copper–zinc flotation circuits
• Cleaner concentrate grade with significantly lower sulfur and penalty elements
• Stable activity across a broad pH range and varying pulp chemistry
• Excellent synergy when paired with xanthates, dithiophosphates, and DTP collectors
• Lower dosage requirement due to higher activity compared with Z200 & ZDTC
Z-5 is especially effective in:
• copper–gold (Cu–Au) flotation
• refractory gold and gold–silver deposits
• activated zinc flotation (CuSO₄-treated sphalerite)
• copper–zinc differential flotation
• complex and fine-grained sulfide ores
• cleaner flotation stages requiring maximum selectivity
• ore bodies with high pyrite content
